No Signs No Fines

I’m tired of cleaning up after the Street sweeping. All they do is race down the street leaving a mess.

Remove the street sweeping signs. Terrible waste of money and resources.

I agree, I agree, I agree! We moved our family of 6 to this area of Torrance since it is a great family neighborhood. The kids all walked to school since elementary school through high school. I understand that there are families of two, such as retirees or those with no kids. But when you live in a family neighborhood it is designed for just that...families, on average a family of four. The kids grow up, learn to drive, become independent, and then, yes, you end up with more than two cars. It is sad that we have to keep track of ensuring the kids park on the right side of the street to avoid tickets. I also have to make sure our guests park on the correct side as well. And to tell you the truth, I have seen no difference in our street cleanliness since this program started. It seems it is just another money making program for the city that already collects an abundant of property taxes from my large home. Please get rid of street sweeping signs and ticketing.

We are a family in a neighborhood of family homes with adult children requiring cars that now exceed our driveway. They work hard with schedules that are dynamic running both day and night as students and/or young working adults and on occasion they forget the day and the city makes sure to punish them. Watching them suffer this ridiculous fine especially when their incomes are limited and so the fines are impacting just infuriates me. As it is we also have no options as a family for all of us to go on a vacation or leave the house without having to leave somebody behind to do the car shell game if we were to be gone over street sweeping days. I'm not going to fight if the city wants to street sweep mostly because I already have enough anger at the all of the existing misuse of tax dollars at all levels of government. Last my guess is all the people who like the ticketing are not inconvenienced. Although self-centered good for them for having the driveway or garage for all their cars.

Please remove the signs and eliminate the fines. Please clean the drains better and more frequently. Thank you.

I don’t have a problem with street sweeping but, I do have a problem with the signage and fines! In our area, with parking only on one side of the street, the street sweeping day literally leaves us with no place to park. The surrounding streets sweeping hours overlap and leave some of us having to park our cars 2 blocks away! I have watched the street sweeper avoid areas with leaves in the street.

May I just point out that hills (of which there are many, including mine) do not collect debris. It’s a complete waste of time sweeping a hill, and causes wasted fuel in the street cleaning vehicle (and pollution from particulates from tires, exhausts etc) so please think about the environmental impact. Thank you.

They are an eyesore

Please remove the signs. Also who is the person who concocted the whole lie about a mandated program? Shame on whoever did that.

We had a wonderful community until this sign pollution was erected. Take down the signs and find another alternative solution to the problem.

I have always moved my car on Street sweeping days. I don't want to be fined If I accidentally forget . Plus how many signs do we need?? Looks really bad. Way too many signs!

We have a small culdesac with two famiies with BIG trucks, one of those families also has 4 parking spaces available to them and can only use 1, they own 5 Vehicles. They park on my side of the street on street swweeping days and when I have ladies come over to play Maj Hongg, there is no room for them to park. We cannot park on Earl because of Paragon and all of their employees parking the whole length of the steer. I am trapped, and can never play at my home unless we make the day short and start after 12:00PM. I pay taxes and should be able to park in front of my own home. A few years ago, the street sweeping would just happen because most of the time the cars would move or be gone because of various reasons, and the street would be cleaned over a couple weeks time. We did noto have a problem before "Mandatory Street sweeping" was imposed.

I have watched the street seeepers go by leaving most of the debris(mostly leaves) behind they are just scattered and wet down now...Ugh
