We should all be becoming increasingly aware that as we see Coronavirus spreading, so does the use of single-use plastics.

If you have not seen it first hand or worked with the people who have dedicated their lives to fight these important issues, you may not think twice about using multiple masks throughout the week or discarding gloves after each use. I have worked with ocean conservationists and environmentalists and I hope this initiative makes people think twice to choose more sustainable options for your COVID-19 protective gear. We need to also gain signatures to push brands and companies to keep waste and sustainability in mind when designing and developing these life-saving solutions we very much need and will continue to produce.

The people and organizations fighting for our oceans have been on the front lines of our planet which is a vital resource shared by all. Let's add our voices to their pleas for help.

We need to all be individually aware of our impacts and the sustainability of our purchases, and we can work together as more conscious consumers to collectively drive change. We advocate for what brands create and what materials they use through what we buy, so let’s fight for products that keep our planet in mind.

We need to sign the petition and each CHOOSE not to use plastic masks and encourage others to choose to do the same. Together we can turn the tide, and petition for more sustainable COVID solutions.
