There should be limitation on what the Tribal Government should have control off. Government should not be involved in operating businesses, corporations, etc. Navajo Nation is the ONE and ONLY Entity at fault here and that is they are unable to provide the land so NHA can build homes. Furthermore, HUD is NOT pushing NN to do this. NN is asking HUD to assist.

Please vote against this legislation. If only the council and people with decision making could understand what they are up against. Please take NHA 101. My voice counts.

There is no Plan for the Nation to handle the TDHE function nor knowledge of NAHASDA and federal rules for compliance nor the financial mgmt system for a multi- million dollar program and the internal controls.

As a sovereign nation, we have many issues, and we are a great nation, with that being said, NHA is vital to our nation and we need NHA.

NHA needs a stinger and more construction experience Director. The present director does not have the knowledge or true heart for the position she holds that seiousily effects our most neediest families.

Our Navajo Nataani, we ask that you hear our voices on this Legislation 232-16.
We know that the Navajo Nation Council acts rash in some of it's most important decisions. So I ask you to be the light on this issue. I don't think the Council has properly thought this out abd the Impact it would have on our Navajo families as well as the employees and their families.
I ask and pray for your VETO on this Important matter before you! Ahe'hee..

The Nation council has over site responsibility and should Look at the concerns of this proposed legislation from a Business standpoint
If the issue is with the way the TDHE manages the funds, then proper over site would be to install qualified business minded leadership
Changing the TDHE is not the answer
No need to jeapardize the federal view of Navajo Stability
Changing the TDHE would most likely give the Feds the excuse they are looking for to, at a minimum reduce the funding allocation to Navajo or worse case eliminate it altogether
I support the current NHA leadership and team who has fully complied with all the Federal over site requirements, built housing and community building projects and has vigorously fought to defend the federal attempts to reduce the yearly allocation
Please note that NHA has not returned any money to the Feds, the record shows that all funds were spent for there intended purpose
Please vote against this short sided legislation

I do not support this legislation. The Navajo Nation needs to understand the magnitude of federal housing statutes & regulations that needs to be complied with.

Sooner or later NHA will lose all control for misspending. Houck Sunset Housings are in dire need of repairs, people have requested help from NHA and they were told they can't be help with renovations or sewer lines, garbage disposal or pickup, etc. They were told if you pay off your mortgage your on your own. Tenants there are dealing with a lot problems and NHA won't even help. So HUD going pull the rug under the Navajo Nation, I would like to see that happen, because i don't live in NHA housing. I have my own house.

The Navajo Nation cannot handle such housing funds and probably will not be able to make housing improvements. The money will be put into their pockets instead of what it's intended for. I support NHA.

Ths key words are infrastructure and resources. The Navajo Nation does not have the capability to manage the monies that NhA receives for their program.

I don't know why this would even be considered. Just think of the shortfalls the Navajo Nation currently has. This will not only increase the unemployment rate, but the Navajo Nation Council will create a negative impact in our communities. The Navajo Housing Authority has the capabilities to administratively keep our communities safe. Progress in communities are happening before your eyes. Veto.
