This site it to aid in the voice of stopping Legislation 232-16, which would take the TDHE away from Navajo Housing Authority and handing it over to the Navajo CHID. The Navajo CHID does not have the infrastructure and resources to handle what comes with housing the existing Navajo people. 400 current employees will be laid off leaving many Navajo Families without proper income. Our Navajo Nataani, we ask that you hear our voices on this Legislation 232-16. We know that the Navajo Nation Council acts rash in some of it's most important decisions. So I ask you to be the light on this issue. I don't think the Council has properly thought this out abd the Impact it would have on our Navajo families as well as the employees and their families. I ask and pray for your VETO on this Important matter before you! Ahe'hee..
The Navajo Nation has a history of mismanagement of funds. This will be no different. Currently, NHA has many projects in process which will help numerous families on the reservation. Transferring this funding will have no positive results.
There is no Plan for the Nation to handle the TDHE function nor knowledge of NAHASDA and federal rules for compliance nor the financial mgmt system for a multi- million dollar program and the internal controls.
Ths key words are infrastructure and resources. The Navajo Nation does not have the capability to manage the monies that NhA receives for their program.
I don't know why this would even be considered. Just think of the shortfalls the Navajo Nation currently has. This will not only increase the unemployment rate, but the Navajo Nation Council will create a negative impact in our communities. The Navajo Housing Authority has the capabilities to administratively keep our communities safe. Progress in communities are happening before your eyes. Veto.
There should be limitation on what the Tribal Government should have control off. Government should not be involved in operating businesses, corporations, etc. Navajo Nation is the ONE and ONLY Entity at fault here and that is they are unable to provide the land so NHA can build homes. Furthermore, HUD is NOT pushing NN to do this. NN is asking HUD to assist.
Please vote against this legislation. If only the council and people with decision making could understand what they are up against. Please take NHA 101. My voice counts.

CHID does not have the administrative capacity. NAHASDA is a very complex law that CHID doesn't know and understand. Under a new immature mgmt, may be a lost of future IHBG, increase unemployment, and hurt the many homeless low income children and elderly!!!
