Been living here 22 years +. One of the reasons my wife an dchose the area was its "country" feel. we knew reasonable growth was inevitable but it's gone beyond that. Roads are slammed most hours of the day. Not much change in infrastructure to handle it. Will be looking soon for another area out of Cobb.

A good start, it's nice to see great interest. Moving forward, we should think about adding clarity and specifics to our position. Generic statements like property values will go down, traffic will increase, schools are already overcrowded, fall short of adding the weight necessary for decisions to be made. How overcrowded are our schools? We need to provide numbers. When was the last time the city had traffic studies in and around that area? What is considered congested vs. accepted? Have property values declined with recent new home construction or are they actually going up??? We need to make sure our arguments are solid, if they can be easily refuted, it will only hurt our position.

Certainly don't need this in an area that is already densely populated with roads unable to carry the burden of continuous building.

Please do not continue to overcrowd our school and our roads. Our property values are contingent on what we already have. We do not need congestion and overbuilding; it is of no benefit to anyone but the developers!

Bad for the area and property values!
Speaking as a realtor, people buy in certain areas because of the neighboring properties and stable property values. This would change this area to a lower price point which would not be good for the people who purchased property here expecting a certain life style/property value. You always want to have zoning changes to enhance a neighborhood, not lower property values.

Please deny this petition. We moved here 24 years ago for the rural feel, and this has slowly slipped away. If we wanted massive housing areas, congested roadways, overcrowded schools, and a large discrepancy in housing prices, we would have moved to East Cobb!

Change is good yes, but I am a objectively firm in my affiliation of preserving the more "scenic" routes around our town such as burnt hickory.

We, the undersigned, ask the Cobb County Board of Commissioners to DENY Rezoning Application Z-101, which seeks to rezone 87.639 acres on Burnt Hickory Rd. from R-30 to R-20/OSC.
Z-101 also proposes a reduction in lot sizes from 30,000 Sq. Ft to 15,000 Sq. Ft.The proposed rezoning is not consistent with R-30 zoning surrounding the subject property and the entire area of Burnt Hickory Rd.
