There are enough bars in the neighborhood and this one would be too close to a school.

Denny's is and has a reputation of a family restaurant, not a bar restaurant. This location is surrounded by family condos and activities which are not conducive to drinking 20 hrs a day. With only 10 parking places, there will be a lot of people outside talking/yelling/arguing and causing noise and disruption for those trying to sleep. Please do not allow this liquor license!

Not a good idea across an elementary school and residential area.

I'm signing this petition, for several reasons but the main one is fear of once this liquor license is issued its hard to be taken away but easy to be expanded and sold to a new owner of this building should the Denny's prove not profitable

Please encourage your neighbors and friends to sign this petition. If 40% of the residents who live within the area to sign the petition, we will block the liquor license. You must be a registered voter or an owner or lessee of record for the area within 500 ft of Denny's DH.

It is bad enough the City allowed a restaurant to be built with two residential towers next door, but to allow a bar too! Hawaii residents need some peace and quiet. This would be horrible. And to allow drinking at 6 am with a elementary school next door!

Please consider the neighbors and school children. Walking up Kapahulu from the area to Kalakaua demonstrates the noise level coming from a bar, and more importantly, the safety of the children. The community also uses the small area directly across Kuhio for an open market and other community activities. Safety first--it's too late after someone get hurt. And the noise: please be good neighbors to the condos that surround Denny's.

The neighboring condos and more importantly Jefferson School warrants that this liquor license NOT be granted.

When purchasing a residence, my physical safety is a top priority. I reside in Makee Ailana, directly next door to this Denny's location. Will Denny's management assure both my safety and my right to residential 'peaceful enjoyment' when their corporate bottom line is rooted in robust and successful promotion of liquor? Any rational authority would not even consider granting a liquor license to an establishment within feet of an elementary school, residential housing, and the Honolulu Zoo. Please deny this application.

This is a family oriented area. Quite unlike the hotel tourist areas. Granting a liquor license flies in the face of placing children and families safety and well being first. The zoo across Kapahulu is a family friendly center. In the face of child safety; neighborhood safety; community culture, it seems beyond reason this license could be granted.

With the school so close and neighbors already dealing with noise and crime, we don't need alcohol to add to the problem. Denny's is often a late night stop after people have been drinking and there's no need to add to a potential problem.

Do not need another business in this area, already traffic and tour/ city buses congestion is bad. This is a residential and school neighborhood. Please no more commercial businesses this will increase neon lighting and noise.

Placing this between 2 very Residential condos, Makee Ailana and Crescent Park seems like a big error in judgement. We are at the park/recreation end of Waikiki not at the hotel/tourist end...Residents of our condos are mainly working folk and this is their home, not here to party 24/7 or on vacation. Deny liquor license, I can't remember Denny's promoting being a bar!

Stop the deceit! They have limited parking and this will affect the crowding of the neighborhood. It sounds more like a bar than a family friendly restaurant right across from an elementary school.

Denny's is opening on a lot that formerly held two small apartment buildings, razed 30 years ago. The noise at the corner of two main Waikiki thoroughfares, Kuhio Ave. and Kapahulu Ave., impacts us at Makee Ailana greatly. The elementary school playground is just two traffic lanes away from the parking and turn-in for Denny's, and directly in view of its area for outdoor drinking and dining. No hard liquor at all hours!
