The location of this particular Denny's -- right on the Kapahulu Avenue route out of Waikiki -- is likely to attract the rowdiest of the late-night revelers. That's not a good fit for a location that is primarily residential, as this one is.

How did a 200-seat restaurant acquire the right to build in the first place with only 10 parking spaces?! And now a liquor license? We neighboring residents were told Denny’s would serve only beer and wine. We do not want any of the side effects of this. No, no, no ... please reject this license!

If this were a normal city not plagued with corruption, a liquor license would not be granted in a residential area. Many of us need to be up early for work and can’t handle noise at all hours of the night. Please decline a liquor license to Denny’s

I am a Honolulu elementary school teacher, resident of Makee Ailana next door to proposed Denny's and I am against this liquor license.
Serving liquor in such close proximity to an elementary school is wholly inappropriate.
This application is totally out of line with the nearby school and the character of the near residences.
