Science is an important subject to get our students interested in. If students have a teacher that has been motivated from this program the students will benefit! Please keep the funding for this program.

Being a TAS has motivated me to be a better teacher. I am able to share real experiences and realistic data with my students. As a TAS, I create high rigor lessons using NOAA TAS: including TAS photos, TAS lessons, TAS materials, and TAS experiences. My students benefit from the outstanding opportunity that NOAA has offered to teachers from all across the USA. THIS program should continue for years and years. Thank you!

Please save this program. It is an invaluable means of bringing science into the classroom for future generations. The loss of this program would be a detriment to student education. Through this program our students have been able to see first hand how science and marine conservation are critical to our world's future. Please do not terminate such a valuable experience for the teachers of the next generation.

Ocean science can't be shoved under water - it's alive with value.

our earth and our students need teachers who have our global health as a primary mission this is so necessary as we now raise a future generation which needs to become aware and compassionate with regard to issues facing our planet

It's typical of the bureaucracy to dismantle the wonderful things that work in the name of austerity and re-organization.

Please allow teachers to engage in real world experiences that, in turn, will engage the students!

the Teacher at Sea experience cahnged the way my students saw me - as a real scientist, not someone just teaching. It cahnged my perspecitve on what students needed to know about science.

Save programs that are good for teachers and students! Cut spending that is not important - like congressional raises!

The whole reorganization is off base. It will elimate many other NOAA education programs that serve K-12 educators and students. Please do not reorganize STEM this way.

No other agency is positioned to place teachers on research vessels. Teacher at Sea simply cannot be replicated. This program has reached teachers in every state with an authentic opportunity to "do" science, which is a direct conduit to better teaching science. This program should be expanded, not defunded.

This full immersion teacher research experience has been invaluable in creating awareness of how the things we teach in the classroom are used in careers. This is a one-of-a-kind authentic learning exerience that cannot be duplicated with computers and lectures. I have been a Teacher at Sea (2006)and a Teacher in the Air (2008) and six years later I am still making use of things I learned and lessons I developed.

Being a Teacher at Sea was a life changing experience for me. I am more excited about science, and teaching science than ever before. My students have benefitted from this new found excitement, and from learning about marine careers, and research possibilities. Most importantly, my students are learning how the ocean impacts us all, and how to be a responsible citizen.
