This decision is against the capitalistic value of self-promoted education. Instead of placing the blame on the school or teachers for "not preparing" students it should instead be placed on the students for not properly preparing.

I am a former CHS student. We are tested on a weekly basis on the things we learn so it's pointless to force us to take a final semester test in every class. The highschool that I currently attend doesn't force their students to take semester tests.

I already missed two days attending a college and since I planned on having seven days to miss I wasn't worried about getting my absence excused, now I'm screwed

It's ridiculous that we are being punished for the alumni being irresponsible and not learning proper study skills all through out high school because I'm sure these were not the only semester tests you skipped out on((:

As an alumna of CHS, semester tests or no, nothing can accurately prepare you for the rigor that are college finals especially with graduation looming only days later. These kids should be focused on their futures and upcoming AP exam(s) rather than semester tests that more than likely do not accurately emulate college finals.
Also, what happens to the teachers who teach multiple grades? Unless every semester test is given in the confinement of a single class period, which cannot accurately measure an entire semester's learning, there is no way that these teachers can both give an accurate exam and teach a class.
Having been in school when semester tests were required and when they were not, it is my experience that neither system was responsible for college successes. It is up to the students and how they apply themselves at both the high school and the college level. While studying can be taught over the course of many years, it surely is not going to effectively impact of seniors graduating at the end of this semester. If a change is to me made, it must start with lower grades and then work its way up with that class as opposed to beginning now when it does these classes no good.

Seniors shouldn't have to take any more tests. We've been doing it for years and years. Let us worry focus on our future. Not finals. In high school.
