This is absurd. You're forcing people with minor ADA needs to now need to ask for accommodations.

By implementing this, you are taking space away from the screen that we need to see. Plus, if we gotta go to a reference material from that question, our white board would be also lost, etc. this change can’t come without a substantial extension of time to the test at the very least

Taking away physical scratch paper from in-person testing locations for “security” reasons, simply does not make sense. The paper is securely provided from the testing center, not the candidate. The testing center does not let candidates take scratch paper any further than the check-in and out area directly adjacent to the testing room. The scratch paper and candidates are monitored at all times. Candidates are not allowed to provide their own scratch paper, and are not allowed to move it to an unsupervised/monitored area. As candidates, we follow all testing procedures to the t. This is another reason why everything after your exam is subject to review. NCARB this change does not enhance security measures. All this accomplishes is adding confusion (as we need to see the full screen to review questions and information provided ESPECIALLY for calculation questions where we would most likely rely on physical scratch paper) and remove valuable testing time from candidates. Stop telling us this is change is for our benefit, it is not.

Please do not implement any changes to in-person testing minimally thru the end of the year. Remote proctoring should have absolutely no baring on in-person testing methods.

Being able to quickly write and take notes , solve math problems and sketch is part of the thinking process for many of us, Exam takers. Also, If the exams already have issues and glitches, adding a digital notepad seems detrimental.

Thank you for trying to help us, but taking paper and pencil away from us is creating a handicap and not helpful at all.

Scratch paper is an effective way to write down provided information obtained throughout the exam. This is a terrible mistake when testing architects who rely on pencil and paper everyday

scratch paper is essential on these exams.. much needed for our calculations and writing things out as a brain dump.. unnecessary hindrance to remove it from our tests..
No scratch paper, no testing
