I heavily relied on my scratch paper to take the exams. It’s critical as a visual person and will hinder and the further ability for people to become licensed.

We are being tested to assure the state boards that we will be competent architects. Using paper and pen/pencil to problem solve is essential to that endeavor.

Removing scratch paper is absurd. This completely reformulates how many of us process information. Anything digital is going to slow the testing process - eating into our time for the exam questions. Just another hurdle.

I think this decision will making so hard for test takers to focus while switching in between screens. We are people who likes to use the pen or pencil to solve problems and express our thoughts on papers. This action will make it almost impossible for certain people who has ADD or other memory issues. Thanks !!

Taking away physical scratch paper will not only be more of a distraction, but take more time away from focusing on the exam. I think differently and more collectively when I take my eyes off the screen and see/feel what I am writing down. Going digital will for one add more stress and strain to my eyes while already staring at computer focused for 3 hours while under a time limit, but also be more time consuming, just plain hard to do and not give us enough screen space to allow for it with just one screen. Not to mention the idea of writing anything with a mouse is horrid and extremely difficult.

This is an incredibly unfair change that will only make a difficult test series more stressful and challenging not because of the content but because of the lack of understanding in how candidates think, process and demonstrate their knowledge.
