My odd nature needs physical scratch paper. It allows me to rest my eyes from the screen occasionally, which is important to me. It's also a calming mechanism for me.

Scratch paper is a vital part of how many of us are able to get our thoughts out and work through problems in a tangible way. I believe eliminating scratch paper would put most people at a higher disadvantage and increase the likelihood of failure.

This is nonsense. NCARB did not even email out this FAQ blog post about online testing to testing candidates like they did about the post announcing the online option a few weeks earlier. And then this tidbit about scratch paper that affects in person test takers is buried in the middle of the post.

Scratch Paper is standard testing practice both in-person and on-line. If NCARB can’t figure out how to manage it, then they should seek guidance from other allied professions. Removing scratch paper does nothing to further the mission to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the public. What it does do is ensure that many more candidates will fail and will be forced to pay additional testing fees.

This is ridiculous. I wouldn't have passed the tests for ARE without pencil and paper. And with how buggy the actual test is, this will cause an even bigger nightmare!
