Please fine cut the trees. We don't want a sports complex in our neighborhood.

Your website states, "Our Mission focuses on the importance of community, and Maret has always sought to be a good neighbor and member of the DC community." This is a good test of your commitment to the DC community. Please, at least wait until you have final BZA approval before doing irreversible damage to the existing trees.

I oppose the killing of trees, and 60 trees is too much.

Destroying 60 trees before receiving zoning permission for a sports complex seems designed to discourage opposition, and is mean spirited.

Those trees should be preserved and perhaps build elsewhere

Supporting Friends of the Fields! Maret should fold in its privilege and be a more humble citizen in this town.

From the beginning this has been an ill-advised project. Maret should reconsider.

It seems crazy to start work before permits are in place from the zoning board, how is that even allowed?

This must be stopped. It is not just sentimental attachment to the space, it is the science. Removing all those trees will have a serious environmental impact on a much larger area than just that block. The impact on air quality, ecosystem and climate will be permantent. Is the gratification of upper income individuals who will not be living at ground zero worth the damage and destruction it will cause to not only those living in the immediate but also in Rock Creek Park, flooding over a larger area than just the houses immediately east of the property. Those trees control huge amounts of ground water, which will wash out Oregon Avenue yet again, in a larger area than just Utah, Nebraska and Oregon Avenues.

There's no harm in waiting. Think of your own children and grand children and their needs of/from out only planet.

Please take community well-being into consideration and cutting trees only would have negative impacts in the long-term

Please don’t cut down anymore trees!

Maret’s action to cutting down trees is indicative of their attitude in to attain their goals. They consider themselves above the normal guidelines the rest of the community follows.

It is premature for Maret to be destroying 60 trees before a final BZA Order and Appeal. The school does not have permission to build so this is all premature and a poor indication of what kind of steward Maret will be for this land.
