Marathon is the frontier of athletics, and this shouldn't be removed because there's been lots of marathon events here.

It's unfair that a country dictates the sports it hosts at its Games based on their medal winning chances. It affects the careers of athletes who sacrifice much to make it to the start line and the sport's development in general. Selfishly eliminating sport based on the institution's whims and fancy is ironic given that the Games are about accepting fellow members of the region and treating them as one.

Marathon is the ultimate endurance event in Seagames. It should not be omitted. The spirit of marathon should continue.

I would like to request to bring back the Marathon to the SEA games. Marathon has always been a historical sport. Coming 2017, 29th SEA games will held in Malaysia. Athletes been training hard for this category of game and I am sure Malaysian athletes would prepare and perform their best as well if the event held in their homeland. We are looking forward to see this WAR!

It's really a pity for sports that are so recognised in International sports events being marginalised due to personal agenda. Where is the spirit of sportsmanship?
