These knives should be legalized. After all they are mostly banned for being related to crimes and because they can be opened quickly. As a matter of fact assisted knives can be opened quicker than balisongs. The same goes to say with some pocket knives.

We can have swords, guns, daggers, katanas, ninja stars, kunais, machetes and much more...but no butterfly knives?

The ban is pointless, from a crime point of view if someone was to mug a person the robber wouldn't care what weapon he/she used. From a medical point of view I think that people have learned not to just play with these"toys." Plus if someone gets cuts from a balisong a lot if people don't go to get help because of the legal stand point.
