Request to LTA for a signalized crossing along 1 Unity Street

This is a busy street with a lot of through traffic, there is also a lot of pedestrian traffic including children. Singapore is one of the great global cities, there is always room to improve livability and improving pedestrian safety is a key way to make Singapore even better.

Please provide a crossing so we can safely cross the road with children

This is a very dangerous intersection and I support the need for traffic lights.

Resident at UESquare with children - it gets very dangerous getting children from home to their pre-schools. Also dangerous for pedestrians coming from bus stops / Fort Canning MRt to Robertson Walk of an evening.

I pass this junction everyday (both driving and walking) and I find it extremely dangerous. Traffic lights and a zebra crossing are really needed for the safety of both the drivers and the pedestrians.

It’s a daily game of chicken with two toddlers and rucksacks trying to cross the road. Cars do not indicate so you never know if they’re going to turn or come at you. The median strip is big enough for one adult and one child only. No good if there are multiple people and children and strollers crossing and getting stuck at once. It is only a matter of time before there is a casualty at this intersection. It needs to be addressed ASAP.

I walk this crossing to and from work everyday for the past 3 years and it is a difficult crossing even for a single adult, let alone with a child or 2 in a stroller or scooter.

This is a v dangerous 4 way crossing as the oncoming traffic from main road is also from the AYE Clemenceus exit where many cars speed up and exit. I would never allow my children to cross that juntion on their own, even when my older son is now 13 and occassionally takes the mrt to Fort Canning. I would walk to meet him at UE Square side and walk home with him. If there was a traffic junction, it would definitely make a big difference and a peace of mind.
