I hope we can get kids back to learning the way their use to. It’s not fair on their learning progress.

Teachers need to get vaccinated. As civil servants, they have no right to put our families in danger. Deciding what others are permitted to do with your body is a human right; but working for the Ministry of Education, at the public expense, is NOT a human right. They serve at our discretion. Government needs to answer to the People, not the union.

I agree stop living in fear. If everything is in place for example wearing mask, washing hands etc. Then children should be able to get bact in school. This flu is not going anywhere, so we need to live with it not stopping everything and hope it will go away because by the look it not going anywhere. I think we have everything in place for us to live our lives day to day.

Children need to be in an interactive physical and social setting to learn and grow! Our schools are safe! Let’s get students and teachers back into school consistently either through safe keys or rapid testing. We have to find a viable solution!

Rapid tests are the key. They should be available at all schools and also all pharmacies, and they should be free!

Now is exactly the time to be doing this. We CANNOT continue to negatively impact our children's education. The contract tracing and testing is completely out of control and a new strategy needs to be implemented around everything COVID impacting children.

It is most important to continue to allow our children to attend school with their teachers ..remote learning had no human interaction

Test kids and teachers - but keep our children at school for their mental well-being, development and education

I agree with the spirit of this. It is overkill that vaccinated secondary contacts have to quarantine 14 days. The UK has a much more sensible approach there. You’ve mentioned some great ideas to keep kids in school. We are now allowed lateral flow tests to be imported - those would go a long way to keep schools open. At the end of the day we also need a higher vaccination rate to support the little ones who can’t get one.

I don’t think we can waste any more time that most of the children in Bermuda are not in school. How is this less important?

I don't think that the policy should be shifted while our hospital is well beyond its capacity. This idea or similar are used widely across other countries, but they also have the ability to absorb higher levels of transmission through their much larger health systems. We can't afford more stress on our health infrastructure now. The timing of this petition is quite poor.
