No Comments. No Grants. Just Waiting — Fair Process for Iranian Skilled Visa Applicants

We request fair and transparent processing of Iranian Skilled Visa Applications.

Hello We are a group of Iranian applicants who lodged our visa applications for Subclass 189 in September 2024, and some of us even earlier for Subclass 190 and Subclass 491 visas. However, to this day, none of us have received any updates regarding the progress of our applications. It appears that hundreds of Iranian applicants — and perhaps several thousand across different subclasses — are experiencing the same situation. We are deeply concerned that, due to the actions and policies of the Iranian government, the Australian Department of Home Affairs — a body known globally for fairness and integrity — may have unintentionally adopted a process that is causing innocent people to suffer. We respectfully request that our visa applications be assessed fairly and independently, without any influence from the foreign policies or political behavior of the Iranian government, which are entirely beyond our control. This issue has nothing to do with politics — it is about the lives and futures of innocent individuals who believe in Australia’s values of justice, equality, and humanity.

I have been waiting for my visa for 21 months. Although my occupation is construction project manager, I have never gotten any comments yet.

Skilled Iranian applicants deserve fair and timely visa processing like everyone else — talent shouldn’t be held back by excessive delays.

The visa process for Iranians has been extremely long and unfair. I kindly ask for a fair and timely review of visa applications.
