End Unfair Delays in Processing Australian Skilled Worker Visas for Iranian Applicants Petition Text: We, the undersigned, call on the Australian Government and the Department of Home Affairs to address the ongoing and disproportionate delays in processing skilled worker visa applications submitted by Iranian nationals. These excessive waiting times—often far longer than for applicants from other countries—constitute a clear case of discrimination based on nationality. Such treatment unfairly punishes qualified and law-abiding professionals who seek only to contribute their skills, knowledge, and hard work to the Australian economy and society. We urge the Australian Government to: 1. Ensure transparency in visa processing times and criteria. 2. Eliminate any nationality-based prioritization or discrimination. 3. Provide timely updates and fair treatment to all applicants, regardless of origin. Justice and equality must be the foundation of immigration policy. Prolonged and unexplained delays for Iranians are unacceptable and contrary to the principles of fairness, non-discrimination, and respect for human rights that Australia stands for.
