Justice needs to be done and Mr.Hill needs to do the time for his crime and compensate Del Dotto for the losses they have incurred. His actions were greedy, offensive and harmful to others. Hopefully the Judge will uphold the laws and set an example for other would-be thieves to let it be known that stealing grapes and negatively impacting the livelihood of others will not be tolerated on any level.

Punishment needs to fit the crime, for the punishment to be a deterrent to that and future crime.

I believe that punishment should fit the crime. Stealing $800,000 worth of anything should be a felony. I agree your grapes are extremely valuable and your wine is exquisite

A reduction to a misdemeanor is not only an injustice, it sets a precedence that clearly shows that there is very little to fear when a person chooses to steal $800,000.00 worth of grapes... If this were art, or jewelry, or cash... I doubt that a reduction would even be considered. A felony conviction fits this crime, and protects the livelihood of all Vintners.

Don't allow him to get away with this crime. He committed numerous felonies and he should go to prison and pay restitution.

Both crimes are Felonies. Together, they show a pattern of intent & premeditation. Such crimes should be combined since they form a pattern of planned criminality that caused significant financial injury.

Stealing is wrong no matter what, and there are and should be severe consequences for theft.

I believe that this case should not be reduced to a misdemeanor. Mr Hill deserves jail time for his actions. We need to make an example out of him no matter how much money he has he can't buy himself out if this.

Jeff Hill has been stealing grapes and vines for years. He needs to go to jail to be punished for his crimes against so many wineries in Napa Valley.
