Plea bargaining for eggregious of fences is a slap in the face for justice in a precedent setting case please deny the reduction from a felony in this case. Thank you

This is a felony and reducing to a charge of anything less opens the door to other thefts. The crime is that it is even on the table as a misdemeanor.

This affects every vinter, grower, producer, winemaker in this valley. This affects the worldwide wine industry and the thought of letting this criminal action be dismissed is appealing

The difference between petty and grand theft is $500.00 according to our CA Penal Codes. $500.00 is the difference between jail time and state prison and since Hill's theft exceeds well over $500.00, it would seem most unjust for the Judge to slap him with a misdemeanor. In doing so, sends the wrong message in so many ways. This man who worked in the wine business blatantly took valuable property with the hope of salvaging his already financially ruined business. In June 2013, he was sued by Trefethen Winery for failure to pay close to $101K. In June 2014, he files BK, and four months later, he steals another wine maker's grapes. These are not the actions of one committing a misdemeanor, these are the actions of one who suffers from financial ruins and the inability to swallow his pride. Sitting in a state prison may provide this thief with the humility he most certainly needs to embrace.

As a previous employee of Del Dotto vineyards, he knew full well what property they held and it's value and willfully and intentionally committed grand theft. Any reduction in sentence justifies his behavior which is is both outrageously unethical and illegal.

There should be NO plea bargaining. The man knew what he was doing was not only illegal,(that's why it was done at night), but also morally wrong. Now he should be held fully accountable for ALL his actions in this matter.

The plea agreement has already dropped one felony charge reducing the potential punishment Mr. Hill will incur. Please do not further reduce his punishment by re-characterizing a felony as a misdemeanor. Such action would be sending the wrong message to other would be criminals.

We have a business in the food industry as well and the theft of raw materials before processing should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. This was a planned act of sabotage against the company that had full faith and trust in him to do his job. It is so easy for this crime to happen again in this industry. Harsh crimes should be enacted.
