I oppose any reduction of the crime from a felony to a misdemeanor.

Mr. Hill should be charged with felonies for grand theft!

This is theft and should be punished not with a slap on the wrist. I believe he should have a jail sentence!

This is not a case of petty theft and Mr. Hill should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law to pay his debt and set an example to others.

The reduced charge and punishment will encourage more thefts and increase security costs for vintners.

Just a shame this could happen to a nice family.

Prosecute Mr. Hill on all felony counts. Send the message to him, and all thieves, that theft of grapes is a very serious offense, punishable by significant jail time.

This type of crime can not be minimized by a plea agreement! Please prosecute this crime exactly as it should be....a felony with the harshest punishment allowed by the law. By not doing so, you are actually encouraging this type of crime!

It's disgraceful. This felon knew exactly the value of the grapes he was stealing... Don't minimize the consequences

As a former NYPD Sergeant, I agree with the victim in that the defendant and the community must know that there will be severe consequences for this type of crime. Napa wineries are a California state treasure and must be protected.

Theft from an employer is the most griegous of crimes.
