Speak out to the Napa DA in support of just punishment for felons who steal grapes

This is a true crime and should be treated as such. The Del Dotto family and the vintners need protection. Please set a presadent to protect against further crimes of this nature. Thank you

Individuals that steal from others is bad enough, but to have a trusted employee steal from their employer is the worst. It is a breach of trust that hurts not only the business but fellow employees, customers and sales. Offender deserves maximum penalty under the law.

In the olden days in the wild west horse theives and cattle rustlers were hanged. "Grape rustling" should at least merit felony status

The defendant should receive the maximum sentence under the law! Anything less would be a travesty of the law!

One reason we have the best country in the world is because Americans believe in equal opportunity for all. Belief in fairness is paramount to this principle and hence Americans know that we must demand accountability in our lives. It is evident that Mr. Hill has been established as a felon and needs to be held fully accountable for his crime. The mere fact that a plea bargain is even possible in this clear cut case of theft is an affront to the American belief system. It is time for our justice system to act appropriately and hold those who commit crimes to pay the price!

Mr. Hill should not receive a reduced sentence. His actions have hurt so many people that he should be charged for all the crimes he committed.

If the charges are proven in court, I feel Mr. Hill should receive the entire felony punishment.

In the case of DelDotto VS Mr. Hill, Mr. Hill should be prosecuted to the fullest as this is a very serious matter. This could effect the lively hood of the DelDotto winery and future employment of all his coworkers. As President-CEO of The Eternity Challenge, I lead a ministry which spends substantial time and resources helping people in prison, jail and the community rebuild lives after conviction and incarceration. The difference between felony and misdemeanor conviction AND incarceration vs. probation is a huge factor and deterrent. They are also very important in rehabilitation. Our organization seeks to rebuild lives but also prevent recidivism and additional crimes. Thus, even though grace is critical, justice is equally important. Moreover, business and community are interconnected and vital for a strong nation. I fully support a felony conviction and incarceration for Jeffrey James Hill. Without this, he could do the same thing. Without this, others may be encouraged to steal. The circumstances with respect to wineries and harvested grapes is particularly vulnerable. Even though this is one case, it can and probably will be watched throughout the world.
