Speak out to the Napa DA in support of just punishment for felons who steal grapes

He should get the maximum sentence. I hope the judge does the right thing.

Theft of this level must result in jail time to send a message to any would be future criminals.

Mr. Hill should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law and serve actual prison time for his offense. Not only did he steal very valuable property, he violated his position as a company manager to quell his greed. The gravity of this crime is significant, if it had been money he would have been guilty of embezzling $800,000 and would certainly serve time for that offense.

This should not be allowed to be dropped to a misdemeanor. If taken lightly by the court, this could be the next "copper wire" scam where under the cover of darkness, theives steal valuable grapes for no punishment but a slap on the wrist.

I believe Mr. Hill should be punished for the crimes he committed.

As a grower in Dry Creek Valley, the theft of anything off my property would be considered a felony. Knowing how much effort and resources that go into producing a ton of grapes, he should also be held responsible for the loss of said resources as well. Nothing less than a felony is acceptable. Our courts system of dealing with those who commit crimes has become a quagmire of delays and not holding anyone accountable.
