Registered Nurses, especially ER nurses, have one of the highest rates of work place violence and injury. That a patient would attack a nurse and not expect that nurse to reasonably defend herself is outrageous. Attacking a healthcare worker is against the law, and for Montefiore to terminate her employment is outrageous and shameful. This nurse is a victim and should be treated and protected as such.

Montefiore needs to protect us better. We should not get assaulted while at work. Everyone respondes to violence differently. She should have been offered therapy for PTSD not fired.
