The administration actually listened to us and the people shouting those slogans are finally facing real consequences. I am genuinely stunned that we managed to clear the air at JU but we have to keep watching because the culture here still feels fragile and I cannot believe it is over.

Once again Jadavpur University has hit the headlines of both Bengali and national media for two reasons.

Making every JUite proud ;the tireless efforts of our dedicated and exceptional professors blended with the merit and hardwork of the students has paid off in the form of the MHRD rankings. It's a proud moment for all of us. We are 5th among all Indian Universities and 9th in Engineering competing with all IITs. Many IITs are also ranked below us. We as students are extremely joyful and cherish this wonderful moment.

BUT

The second reason for hitting the news headlines is not at all to be proud of. Anti India divisive slogans like "Kashmir Maange Azaadi" ", Manipur Maange Azaadi", etc. have been raised by certain fringe elements who do not represent total JU community in any way. It's like a black spot in this moment of Pride.

We, the general Jadavpurians come to University to make our future, to do something for our parents, for this society, for our JU. Several passouts , professors and students do relentless hardwork which results in making of credibility , goodwill & academic excellence of our JU. JU is also known for its greater social outreach. But time and again we are seeing a very poor trend by some political student organisation. They, by their actions and words brings only ill-fame for our University. It hurts deep down when in spite of being a part if such reputed Institute, people see us with eyes full of suspicion, questions and many times hatred too. Who is responsible for it?? Just a handful of fringe elements but consequence is faced by the whole student community of JU. Their activities clearly shows their divisive, violent, hypocritic behaviour and mind full of hatred which doesn't believe in democratic values. This effort isn't targeted to create a binary of National and Antinational rather it is an effort to raise a collective voice against those who are defaming JU and push authority to take some stringent actions against such political stident organisation. In past years we are seeing recurrence of such events. So it is high time we should raise our voice for saving our JU from getting defamed.

COME WITH US,FIGHT WITH US

FOR A BETTER JU AND FOR BETTER NATION.

It's a University of great men like Rishi Aurobindo Ghosh. It was born out of Swadeshi Movement. ANTI NATIONAL FRINGE ELEMENTS DON'T REPRESENT US

I really never thought this would reach so many people but watching this momentum build on its own feels pretty surreal. It is honestly just exhausting to watch our university get dragged into these headlines for the wrong reasons when we have so much real academic work to be proud of. Thank you for caring about this as much as I do because I was starting to feel like I was the only one who felt this way.

As an alumni of chemical engineering I am sincerely serving my country with a proud JU tag. I vehemently condemn the anti-national slogans raised in JU and demand action against the culprits who are trying to shame JU culture.

I abhor anti nationalism . Freedom comes with responsibilities. Sloganeering in campus while flashing messages like 'Kashmir ki azaadi ' is not freedom at all.

I do condemn the nonsense activity in the name of freedom of speach . Using ugly posture uttering worse language in the name of so-called Azadi is a farce. As a faculty member I can support only ideological tolerance and debate.

I condemn such activities completely. The only point that is dragging down the name of JU is things like this. Stares are given to people who study in JU after all the bad media publicity. Its high time that people realise that just being against anything and everything will only let you into a kind of hatred for even the good things around you!

It really hurts when some pollitical union uses ju as a platform for raising antinational slogans even they dont represent whole ju community, they made ju as a centre of disturbance,

An university is for a specific cause that is education. Anything in favour or against of something which is not related with education whethet it is right oe wrong should be discussed out of the campus permises.
