Petition to Duke Energy asking that the company does not build a power substation on property bordering Isaac Dickson Elementary School's property

I DO NOT want a substation built in Montford! Especially next to an elementary school. Think about the health of our residents for once!

Our children should always come first.

Please relocate the substation away from our children and the heart of our downtown historic neighborhood.

No Substation at IDES

Protecting our future generations is everyone's responsibility, including the people at Duke Energy. Keep our kids safe! Find an alternative place for the substation. This is a neighbor full of churches and schools, this is not a place for a substation.

Duke's plan to build a substation in such proximity to school children is unconscionable and the Asheville community will not falter in their efforts to stop this egregious plan.

Doing the 'right thing" never seemed so easy and so valuable to the public perception of Duke Power. Why wouldn't you?

Beautiful new school building with solar panels, ample allowance for outdoor instruction, and committed involvement of larger Asheville community all flanked by a substation? Totally contrary to what makes Asheville a leader in the South!

I don't want an industrial installation next to our green school and I want AVL City Council to adopt a cohesive plan to stop this from happening in the future
