We, the undersigned, parents of IW Students are seeking a safe learning environment for our children at Incarnate Word School so we can continue with the current in person learning environment. We urgently request Father Schroeder and Mrs. LaMarche to improve the current COVID Policy dated January 7, 2022 by utilizing the current CDC Guidelines for COVID in K-12 Schools.
We respectfully request the following:
- Universal Masking for Faculty, Staff and Students until the positivity rate falls below 3% in our School Community
- Positivity Rate will be based on school absences. Parents providing a negative covid test or doctor's note stating the illness is not due to COVID, will not be counted as a COVID positive case. The positivity rate will be calculated weekly utilizing the average of the number of positive cases in a two week period of time.

The volume of support has now reached a point where it necessitates a formal response from the administration. I am currently drafting a letter to Father Schroeder and Mrs. LaMarche to request a meeting regarding the integration of updated CDC guidelines. Expect an update on their availability by the end of the week.

My kids have been sick twice already this month. We need better rules so they can actually stay in the classroom.
JUST FOLLOW THE GUIDELINES. Its not that hard. Stop putting the kids at risk.
Please protect our faculty too. They are exhausted and deserve a safe environment to work in.
Listen to the experts. My daughter is terrified to go to school and honestly I dont blame her.
Keep them in school but keep them safe. Why is this so difficult for the administration to do?

We just want consistency. The current plan is practically non existent and its hurting the students.
