This petition is offered to existing Cedar Creek roleplayers, primarily those who have already expressed a desire for HitCorp International to be available to hire, work for, and roleplay with in the Cedar Creek estate. Traditionally our main roles & services include roleplay physical uniformed security guards & patrols, asset-transit (cash/bank armoured trucks), alarm & camera installation & monitoring, private investigation, and other services typical of such companies in the domestic U.S. market, subject to any reasonable terms, rules, restraints & licensing, IC and/or OOC, imposed by local government/sim administration.

HCI was founded in 2004 and focuses on typical U.S. style day to day private security roleplay, attempting to portray the role as realistically as possible (in contrast to many Second Life private Security groups). HCI's domestic private security portrayed in sims themed as such, like Cedar Creek, is not akin to mercenaries, PMCs, soldiers, SWAT or any sort of wannabe-police.

The group often focusses on supporting roles, especially involving cross-group and public interaction, to enhance and drive roleplay in the wider community with both the primary security themed roleplay as well as auxiliary services including people & cargo transport, janitorial/custodial/maintenance services, medical response/research services & more, depending on approval and community/storyline needs. We are aware that private security can be a controversial role in Second Life roleplay at times, due to common misuse/abuse and inappropriate behaviour and "wannabe cop" behaviour from many of those who attempt to portray the profession, however we attempt to avoid and deter such behaviours and portray it correctly to the best of our ability, following the theme and standards of the region. We are acutely aware that private security have distinct duties from government police forces, operate distinctly differently, teaching our personnel that security personnel are not, and should not act like, government police - Given this knowledge, we attempt to operate in a realistic fashion for the role and ensure our personnel know this role and act appropriately. We hope to be allowed to operate as an IC business in general and at least operate some of our less controversial auxiliary activities regardless of the status of security services. Being allowed to exist as a company within Cedar Creek would provide us with the opportunity to earn trust and demonstrate our professionalism, open a much desired opportunity to bring our team of friends to Cedar Creek with a purpose and thus enjoy Cedar Creek to our fullest ability, as well as bringing our history, storytelling, activities & roles to the world.

The group has generally maintained a reputation for relatively restrained, realistic and sensible roleplay for over 18 years, only extending into more traditionally "over the top" actions when appropriate for the theme of the roleplay or story and explicitly allowed in the region of operation. The group is fond of intricate and well thought out scenarios and great storylines both short term and long running, including long running investigations, persistent story arcs, persistent relationships with other persons, companies, agencies and such, in depth forensics and interaction between groups and people (such as providing employee drug testing for other groups, and other such niche services, if approved), and often focus on roles to assist, support enhance and help drive storylines and scenes among third parties when needed & desired/requested.

The group originally learned of Cedar Creek and decided to request permission to operate in the region due to queries and requests by existing on-sim players as to if HCI would open a branch/begin operations in the region, but unfortunately the initial request was denied without room for negotiation for reasons not made clear to us, sadly nor did we receive any return of information with which we could potentially review or revise our proposal. We wish to request this decision be reconsidered and implore CC management to consider allowing HCI to open a branch and prove themselves to be a valuable organization that can enhance and assist roleplay, bring extra people, jobs, storylines, and scenarios to the roleplay that is Cedar Creek. We hope we can attempt to convince those in charge of such a decision to consider at least discussing the possibility and address any concerns or potential issues, and hopefully then be able to move on to discussion of any terms, rules, policies, and expectations surrounding our operation in the region.
