The focus should be on teaching not if a persons clothes are to tight, baggy, ripped etc. Last I checked we live in the USA. Should there be some restrictions of course, I don't like seeing kids butts or boobs. If teachers and administrators have issues they should contact today's designers that think everyone is one size. Hopefully this issue will change

Being a recent graduate from Hamburg high I can definitely vouch for these students and how ridiculous it has gotten with the dress codes. Especially when it's too hot in the school to be wearing what the current dress code requires. I personally have been sent to change plenty of times and all its done was set me behind in school work. Also the dress code is currently so confusing that every teacher, student, and administrator interprets it differently. Female students aren't asking to be able to walk around in booty shorts, crop tops that reveal a lot just like the male students are not asking to be able to walk around shirtless. They are simply asking to be respected for what they feel is appropriate for their learning environment. Maybe it's time to add a class on respect, equality, understanding, and excepting of others for the teachers and administrators. They're the ones who put students down what the students are wearing. They're the ones that are more concerned about a guys boxers and a girls shoulders than any student in the building. I feel as though if a teacher feels uncomfortable with what a student is wearing (granted it not be offensive towards race, religion, political views, or graphically inappropriate), they shouldn't be a teacher.

I think the school needs to worry about the education rather than the leggings or ripped at the knees jeans kids are wearing! Start worrying about teachers purposely ignoring kids that are trying to ask questions on homework that they don't understand, worry about some of the pervert teachers that get excited over seeing shoulders or knees, maybe they don't belong teaching !!! As long as body parts are not hanging out inappropriately, it should not matter what they wear!!! I personally grew up in Hamburg and graduated from Hamburg and this used to never be an issue!!! And it seems to be only the girls they ever wanna say something to, that's sexist and will result in a lawsuit if landed in the wrong hands

I fully support the idea of feminism and the power of women in our school district, restricting them is rude and unnecessary.

Former student at hamburg high and I must say this school has gone downhill and should not be focused on what a kid wears...obviously we don't want to see underwear or private areas. But for the love of God focus on teaching and whether or not there is bullying and more serious issues at hand. This while clothing thing is by far the least of your worries. And if u think my daughter will attend any of hamburg schools...you are seriously mistaken

Besides shorts that are way too short, and pants that sag to the knee, I agree with changing the dress code.

I would feel 200 times better if I wasn't so insecure when I walked into the building I love and learn in! #changethedresscode
