We absolutely need free parking. I'm sick of waking up at 6.45 to catch the bus, waiting in the rain/cold for it to turn up. And the quays is stupidly expensive, beyond annoyed that they got rid of student parking for £3 a day.
I think it's a joke that we get tickets for parking in sainsburys and the high orchard not letting us park in the car park... There's loads of spare land around the college that would make excellent car parking for us! Considering we park right in front of empty field That could be used and it's right next to the college.
Given the tragic death of a GCC employee many years ago walking to a car park so far from work, surly the safety of students is paramount.
As a motorbike riding student, I was constantly complaining about staff parking in front of the only motorbike parking bay. And it is also a pain for my fellow students who have to pay stupid amounts and walk far to college just to park
As a parent of college student living in Forest of Dean, the cost of fuel alone to get to college is expensive plus the additional car park fee is very costly, it is free for students to park at the forest of dean campus.....
We need parking as we move a lot of kit
I used to attend Gloucester college and found the lack of parking terrible, due to the traffic from the a40 I would end up running late and would then have to find a space on a residential stree or pay £8 use the quays parking which was terribly expensive especially as a student, and isn't really very close. Where as all the other colleges near by include student parking outside or shuttle buses to and from student parking. Seeing as the college is pretty new still you would expect these facilities there! It's not as if their isn't any room close by its more like they don't want to fork out the money for it

It's unfair paying £10 a day to park. Public transport isn't an option as I never know when I'll finish college. It's also the main reason I selected this college, now it's been taken away!
