I used to attend Gloucester college and found the lack of parking terrible, due to the traffic from the a40 I would end up running late and would then have to find a space on a residential stree or pay £8 use the quays parking which was terribly expensive especially as a student, and isn't really very close. Where as all the other colleges near by include student parking outside or shuttle buses to and from student parking. Seeing as the college is pretty new still you would expect these facilities there! It's not as if their isn't any room close by its more like they don't want to fork out the money for it

More parking should be available for students as sometimes it's their only mode of transport especially if they live long distances away with bad public service transport

I went to this college and found it so expensive to park everyday especially when I didn't qualify for a bursary fund for travel to and from college, many students said to park in the peel centre but often got clamped and had to pay fines it was a risk I wasn't willing to take, as a big college I feel they should provide free! Student parking as we pay enough for the courses that we chose take I feel that this should be a benefit, I prefered Stroud college better as they had a good amount of free parking for all students and it was cheaper to drive to Stroud everyday than it was to pay for all day parking everyday at Gloucester college

As a student at the college I think it's ridiculous that there is no parking options for students, considering that many student travel from all different places and aren't all from Gloucester.
There are so many empty unused spaces around or near the college that can be turned into a car park.
As someone who has had no other options but to park in an expensive car park or suffer getting a parking ticket, I think this is a serious issue that needs to be addressed and sorted.

it would be nice to have somewhere to park so myself and the people I give lifts to can get to college without walking miles across town, getting fined for parking in a reasonably placed car park or looking for a space that makes us all late

It's unfair paying £10 a day to park. Public transport isn't an option as I never know when I'll finish college. It's also the main reason I selected this college, now it's been taken away!

It is ridiculous that we don't have parking for college. So many students now drive which means that they need somewhere to park and we don't have anywhere. We have the quays but that's so expensive for students and I don't know how a college can operate and not provide parking for students it puts people off going there. If I can't drive to college to park then I can't go which means I'm missing out on my learning.

further education students are already paying £8500 a year so why should we have to pay for parking too when the college here enough money from us?

We absolutely need free parking. I'm sick of waking up at 6.45 to catch the bus, waiting in the rain/cold for it to turn up. And the quays is stupidly expensive, beyond annoyed that they got rid of student parking for £3 a day.

I think it's a joke that we get tickets for parking in sainsburys and the high orchard not letting us park in the car park... There's loads of spare land around the college that would make excellent car parking for us! Considering we park right in front of empty field That could be used and it's right next to the college.
