As a dog owner and a parent of kids who have been away from home, I realize the importance of having Ivy give her love and support to the students!

Once you let a bell be rung, you can't unring it. Ivy has been there 2 years and now you decide to ban her. There was no incident of bad bevavior that provoked this decision. The precedent has been set, for 2 years she was acceptable and now not. Sounds very juvenile on the part of officials.

Bring Ivy back! She is obviously a source of happiness and comfort to these students! College is stressful!

Sounds like the benefits of having Ivy around far outweigh the occasional complaint.

Dogs are great therapy and are known to bring stress down in everyone including students.

What is wrong with people? It's not a stray but a certified dog. Any common sense would tell you that this is a way to comfort kids away from home, not a problem. Can't quite understand the mindset here. Very closed. How unfortunate

Professionalism is great to an extent, but only focusing on this takes the "personal" out of the equation. Sometimes, the cost of professionalism is our humanity. Sympathy and empathy are noble human qualities that should not be lost in our quest to be more "professional."

Signed and shared. A therapy animal is every bit as important as a service animal. My brother in law has cancer and without his Therapy Dog (also a Siberian Husky), I know without his dog my brother in law would have given up years ago. In a setting like this I would think it would be at least that important especially as most people on a college campus are away from family and long time friends. Until new relationships are formed what better way for someone to have a non judgmental ear to listen.

It is a shame and disgrace for URI to even consider removing this dog . They should focus on other problems surrounding the school , drug use , alcohol consumption by students and many more illegal activities!!!!!!!!

If she wasn't causing problems, and no one was complaining, why is someone making such a big deal about it? Let the dog stay
