My 10 year old has had Lyme for 3+ years and was finally diagnosed about 6 months ago. This nightmare of a disease has completely stolen his childhood and as of right now, there's no real light at the end of the tunnel. It is astonishing that this disease still carries such a stigma and the lack of acknowledgement, research, reliable testing and treatment in our medical system is appalling. Please bring change, awareness, and transparency to this growing epidemic.

Lyme and co-infection sufferers need to be able to have insurance coverage for treatment.

After being misdiagnosed time and time again, I was finally diagnosed with Lyme disease three years ago. I am 22 years old and the past four years of my life have been extremely difficult due to this crippling disease. My quality of life has lessened drastically. I am hoping that this petition gets enough attention to reach the right people. RFK, I fully support you and I believe that you want the best for those who are struggling with chronic illness. I pray that this reaches you, and that you do whatever it takes to help us.

Research and education regarding Lyme and all related co-infections is not just a need, but a must. This is a chronic condition that has been long overlooked for generations and it’s time for the CDC to recognize this as what it is, CHRONIC. There is absolutely no reason why those suffering, and their families, should have to go in debt to get even mediocre care that probably won’t even help. Patients are literally looking for any treatment at this point in hopes that it might bring some relief to no avail. For those of us who live in the great USA and have access to the best healthcare available, but are unable to utilize it is the epitome of disgust. This should not be happening. To be honest, it should be criminalized. WE HAVE TO DO BETTER…. Period.

Please do all you can to help the medical community become educated about the truth about Lyme disease. Lyme causes a lot of suffering and doctors who understand it are few and far between. Also, the ones who are educated about Lyme and coinfections rarely take insurance and the tests that are accurate are not covered by insurance. Tick borne diseases end up often being overlooked and go untreated for years because many doctors are dismissing it and even giving false information about it..even discouraging patients bitten by ticks from getting treated at all after a known tick bite and saying that unless a tick is attached for at least 24 hours they don’t need to be treated .. saying it takes that long for a tick to infect you with Lyme. This is false information that many people still believe it. There are several people who have studied Lyme and other tick borne diseases and doctors need to study their published findings. Most people can’t afford to pay out of pocket and be treated adequately by a Lyme educated doctor so they go on suffering .. many can’t work and some even end up homeless. Please help!

I first got Lyme Disease in 1989 and was in remission most my adulthood. A new exposure in 2022 let to me going from a high functioning Senior Program Manager in tech and engineering, climbing mountains and racing yachts in my spare time, to becoming disabled and mostly home-bound.
I'm continually being gaslit by males doctors who label me as the lonely menopausal woman and dismiss my symptoms as having middle ages hysterics (basically).
We have the medical technology and science to do better research and understand prevention, treatment, and cures more every year. We need to invest in this. Lyme Disease, and co-infections, are a rapidly growing epidemic that will continue to cost this country more money as lives continue to get ruined.

RFK I served in the military 2020-2024, I contracted Lyme disease, Relapsing fever, and Babesia from a single tick bite in Marin Country , CA. I have been bed ridden for 3.5 years. I lost my career, credibility, finances and am disabled to this day.
This is a real threat to our military readiness I personally know of 5 others service members who have lost everything to this disease, including high ranking AF pilots and my personal friend and mentor Major Anders. The VA and main stream Doctors do not know what Lyme disease and coinfections are, the do not have adequate testing, they do not have a way of supporting members that have become disabled and are unable to do their previous jobs while waiting to be medically retired.
I implore your office to watch Under Our Skin on YT, there is a serious conspiracy to hid the origins and severity of this disease from the people of the United States and the world. The sudden spike in cases in Lyme CT in the 70s can be explained by a government funded bio lab on plum island 8 miles off the coast.
My number is 817 966 1260, I want to fight this disease with truth. Please contact me if you need testimonies and evidence to speak to congress, I will notify my other brothers. They want to testify too.

Please do something to help diagnose and treat lyme pati! Moreso than just doing antibiotics which often don't work!
