The uni is known for its Sports so help us keep it as such

A bit of free time on a Wednesday would be great, it would really give me some extra time to either do society stuff or work on my diss

Any lectures on Wednesdays are problematic, and compulsory lectures or practicals on Wednesday afternoons would prevent me from performing my job effectively every week. Ideally, we need the whole day off to accommodate for away matches.

Afternoon off for sports would be nice

As a keen athlete, I wholeheartedly agree with this.

Wednesday afternoon lectures affect the performanec and developnment of sports teams/clubs in the University

i play for a sports team but don't have lectures on a wednesday but for the others that do, its not fair as the universities shouldn't persuade people to join sports teams

i hate having to sack off lectures for rugby matches

While not a sports player, I am a big fan and it would be great if I had the opportunity to watch our teams. Free them up and see the developments in character.

With the current economic climate leaving many Graduates struggling to find work, employability is a key consideration for all involved in the Student movement. A Degree alone does not make someone employable, but extra-curricular activities such as Sport and Society involvement does.

Having Wednesday Afternoons off are essential to the nature of sports and, ultimately the future and wellbeing of student activity at University. This will continue to be a problem for universities, and will ultimately waste university time, resource and money until it is solved.

why has it changed?

I believe that having a time for students to engage in extra curricular activities is extremely important to the growth and development of student lives and the university as a whole. Wednesday afternoons are traditionally allotted for this in universities and to change it now will leave a lot of societies and members thereof out in the cold. Please reconsider this action on the behalf of all present and future students affected by this.

With the number of activities on offer at Aber it is vital students have enough time to participate in them! great idea.

It is ridiculous that we miss lectures which we pay for by representing our University in sport

It's time this university thinks about their student's for a change!
