Save the Entertainment Industry in Special Session

Increasing and extending our currently capped out film tax credits and incentives in Florida is extremely crucial as we must stay competitive with Georgia, Louisiana, and Puerto Rico as well as other U.S. States and Territories. Electronic media productions that are filmed in Florida are directly linked to increasing tourism in Florida. Miami Vice, Flipper, Burn Notice, The Birdcage, Moon Over Miami, The Glades, Magic City, Graceland, Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, Scarface, There's Something About Mary, Pain and Gain, Rock of Ages, The Punisher, The Waterboy, Superboy, Marley and Me, Any Given Sunday, and Parker are a short list of primary examples. Keeping the cameras rolling in Florida equates to keeping the tourism industry booming in Florida! TRUTH! Truth!

Please reinstate the tax incentive for the film industry. I am barely keeping afloat - going on the 2nd year due to lack of work coming into FL Thank you.

As a local production designer I am dependent on our state incentives to create a competitive market for film and television in Florida so that we are a formidable competitor for new films and television shows. Other states are not only taking work and potential revenue from Florida but we are losing entertainment professionals as they are forced to move out of our state in search of work. This is an important industry in our state and I want to see it succeed and grow as it once did before.

Florida Needs this incentive, the amount of revenue it will bring to this state will be astronomical. The amount of talent who will thrive and bring in more jobs. Please pass this bill

I left DC and my architecture profession to be part of and build Florida's film industry and make a mark on the world. This typeof legislation is key to keeping me here. If the opportunities end up in different states, I'll be forced to relocate outside the state.

BRING THE FILM AND TELEVISION PRODUCTION TO FLORIDA!

States like NC, GA, LA are eating our lunch! We used to attract a lot more productions and projects and now losing them left and right! Lets correct this issue and get competitive again

please help the 100,000+ hard working, every day floridians in film/tv production (not the hollywood moguls and richest of the rich as afp is trying to mislead people to believe) by passing the entertainment tax credit. we want to work in our beautiful state, be with our families and support our own economies. don't you want that, too? i met an executive producer/writer on a pilot shooting in south carolina who, when he heard i lived in florida, asked, "what is wrong with florida's tax credit program?" they wanted to shoot their multi-million dollar project to florida, which he had written it for, but had to relocate due to lack of tax credits offered. i appreciate working anywhere, but there is no excuse that florida shouldn't be an international destination for film and tv. please put us back on the grid and back in the hunt as a thriving film and television destination for all.
