Save the Entertainment Industry in Special Session

This is imperative to the job growth in Florida! The state of Florida needs to support the film, TV, and digital media industry in the Economic Development package. People make a living in this industry, including myself as I have found a passion in film, and we want to continue to live and prosper in Florida doing what we are trained and passionate to do. I was born and raised in south Florida and went to two universities to obtain my Bachelor of Science in psychology and a minor in theatre. I love performing, and I have been singing since I was taught the alphabet by song. As an adult in my late-20s, I had a full-time job (currently looking for work) and on the side did some acting gigs here-and-there to support a thriving passion and add to my performing resume. The fact that I can at least still work on a set once in a while while I am still looking for a full-time position has helped me not only use my time wisely, but also depend less on unemployment wages. I know a lot of talented individuals in the production, theatre, and in the performing arts world and all would benefit from the film industry, which brings not only hope into Florida plus jobs but also money into the state. Please help save our jobs not only for this industry but for the state of Florida. Thank you very much.

I just graduated from UCF with my acting degree and I there are close to no opportunities for me here. I'm being forced to leave my family to a state with a better film incentive. I hope this changes soon.

Please review and save "Florida's" film, television, and media investment program language from the Senate's Economic Developement Package (SB 1214) as part of the call for special sessions.

Please save TV industry in Florida

I am the owner of the Andi Matheny Acting Studios in St. Petersburg and my business has been directly affected by local actors leaving our state to find work elsewhere. The film incentives are not only good for my business but so many other local businesses. Please help our economy and put Florida back to work with the Film Incentives bill - it's a win/win for Florida.

Our industry has brought fame and fortune to Florida. From inception, the world came here for our beaches and sunshine... let's keep giving them the incentives that make it financially beneficial over other states who try, but let's admit it, just aren't Florida.
