These situations/comments should not be made by educators. They should know better and if not, which this is the case, they should not have a place in the school system.

The YRDSB would never tolerate this from anyone; nor would the Minister of Education; nor would Premier Wynne; nor would Prime Minister Trudeau. No "thank you" is acceptable and this individual should not be allowed to serve on publicly voted position which involves the tax payer based school system.

The YDSB needs to take further action. She and family members have states she has lived her life being a person who believes in equality, anti oppression and anti racism. So where did this come from? SMH

If YRDSB does indeed have a zero tolerance policy for discrimination, then enforce it, starting at the top. This woman's actions are disgraceful. Unless the Board condones racist and violent slurs (which it tacitly does if it tolerates this behavior in a trustee), Nancy Elgie should be terminated immediately. She should also be forced to apologize publicly to the parent she so shamelessly disrespected.
