This is so disgraceful and infuriating. Leadership like this is worse than no leadership at all. Elgie should resign and so should the Education Director and every member of the Board of Trustees who isn't speaking out and agitating for her ouster.

A sincere apology would include a voluntary resignation - since there is apparently no way to fire a person from this position.

Elected officials who fail to demand and maintain standards of human rights and dignity must be fired immediately. She has no business near children or doing anything on their behalf. She lied at first about what she said. Stop focusing on her forced apology. Her instinct was to lie and deny. This is not a person of integrity.

As a black parent I can not believe that an apology is enough for this unacceptable behaviour. There is No room for teachers like that in our Schools!
