There is absolutely NO place for racism and any form of discrimination in the workplace - or anywhere, for that matter. Nancy must resign or be removed, immediately.

There is no room for hate speech at this level, especially for someone meant to represent the school board and protect children. Nancy Elgie is a threat to vulnerable children and the York Region community.

There is no excuse for the actions of this trustee; such a heinous and volatile word does not just "slip out". A resignation - not an email apology - is the only course of action.

The position that she holds is governed by a level of morality that is higher than that of many other positions. If she has difficulty with consistently extending human decency and respect others, she should seek other employment where she can learn that skill without causing harm to others on her journey.
