Public money, my money, should not be used to fund racism and racists.

This is wrong in every way. How long can we live in a world of injustice. This foolishness has to stop

For her blatant disrespect for name calling she needs to go. She does not deserve to be in the position she has.

Using this language is a disservice to us all. We need to send a clear message that this is unacceptable under any circumstances.

I appreciate the apology given, but if that word is in her head then it is in her life and there is no place for either is our schools leadership.

It is unconscionable in this day and age to even think of using that word, let alone to utter it, and it's unbelievable that after it happened at a board meeting that Nancy Elgie was allowed to remain in her position. Shame on her, and shame on the York Region District School Board. I have had to ask my own parents to leave my house for doing so - older generations do not get a pass. They need swift and clear correction even more than our children do, because it was NEVER okay, and because we all know right from wrong. Zero tolerance means consequences follow actions.

There is absolutely no place for this type of hatred and division in our school system, our city, our country. A person with this kind of bias should not be making decisions that impact our communities

Resigning is the appropriate thing to do for dignity.

This is unacceptable and a clear example of White privilege. A simple apology does not change someone's beliefs nor does it reverse the damage that has been done. Initiate a zero tolerance policy!

Absolutely unacceptable. That word doesn't just slip out. It comes from a very ugly place deep inside her soul.

I am signing this petition in honour of Canadian values of multiculturalism, diversity, and equality. It is 2017 and we will not stand for an outdated racist in such a position of power.

Seriously? Why is a petition even necessary? Is this 2017 or 1917?
