When those working for public institutions are seen to be immune from consequences from abhorrent and unethical behaviour, it undermines the credibility and effectiveness of the institution they represent and government as a whole. This is amplified tenfold when it is a representative of our education system.
The York Region School Board has a ZERO tolerance policy for discrimination by students and teachers, yet a School Board Trustee who is responsible for crafting said policy, is immune from it? What hypocrisy.
She needs to resign immediately to avoid tarnishing her board any further.
