She should have been terminated a long time ago, the school board should not accept that kind of behaviour.

This sort of behaviour is unacceptable in Canadian society. She clearly is unable to represent the minority students interest hence should resign. She has already said she is happy to take sensitivity training which should help her in her next role

Not sure why this lady has not resigned already

Not acceptable, not for someone in public service, definitely not for one working in our schools. Should be held to a higher standard. She clearly has none.

Disgusting. This should not be tolerated. Termination immediately.

The impact of saying something as oppressive as this in a position of power should not be acceptable.

This woman's comments are reprehensible! Period. A poor role model for children.

It is unthinkable that a response to a parent would be a racial slur. Nancy Elgie holds a position of public trust, and this privilege holds great responsibility. She must be held accountable.

This will not stand. We are beyond an apology. Furthermore, disciplinary action should be applied to trustees and staff who have willfully turned a blind eye to this outcry by mere hand-wringing.

Terrible, needs o resign now. Why a board needs to have her resign instead of removing her is beyond comprehension

The fact that she said it came out of her mouth without thinking tells us that it is her true self talking. She shouldn't have to stop and think about something so heinous before saying it aloud. At the last election town hall meeting she talked down her nose at everyone there so this is no surprise to me. She clearly considers herself to be better than the average person in the region. She is well past her prime and needs to have the courage to do the right thing - STEP DOWN! It's the only way to save any dignity that she may have left. There are plenty of better qualified and people with higher moral standards out there waiting to take her place. She will not be missed.
