It is important that the children not be uprooted from school. I know from experience after having to change schools over 30 times in 14 years of school. Let these children learn and thrive without the stress of having to change schools.

I work in a french immersion school, most of my time is spent in kindergarten. Kids with English parents who didn't know what "oui" and "non" were on day 1 in September are speaking full French sentences now, mid November.
Early immersion in any new language is important if you want success. Gardez le français dans votre école!

It will be a shame to see this happen. In the past we fought long and hard to have and then keep this program in Brant. Please, to all those who now have children in the program, or are thinking of putting their children into the program in the future -fight for the right to have your children start French Immersion at the JK level - do not let the board make this ridiculous decision. Your stopping the children from getting employment in the future. All children should be bilingual, I would have a better job today if I was bilingual. It's too late for me but not for them.

This is extremely aweful for our bilinguilism in Canada. WE are a bilingual country. Leave it as is. I DO NOT support the cutting of any languages. Children will suffer dramatically in the years to come. We are fighting for education. I am bilingual french/english. There are so many openings for bilingual in the work industry. Common sense states the earlier the age to learn a second language the better, it gets harder as you get older.
Je suis une femme bililngue du Quebec, je parle/ecrit/lit le francais et l'anglais. C'est l'heritage du Canada pourquoi l'arreter??? Il y a beaucoup d'avantage d'etre bilingue. Commence le francais jeune. Reveillez-vous et voyez ce que vous faites a nos presidents future? Pensez y bien.

This is horrible I have one child in the school and when it comes to my second child. His education will suffer and will not have the same advantages as my first child.
Why wouldn't you just build a new school that would accommodate all the grades. Instead of punishing and splitting up families at different schools.

We live in Canada which means we are a bilingual nation. Taking away French from children is taking an asset that is part of their heritage. We already have a problem in Quebec where English is suffering due to the cuts in our budget. English is discriminated against, dont copy what we are fighting for out here. Cutting back in education is like cutting out something so important. Children who learn another language also learn about another culture and it creates understanding and knowledge.
PLease listen to the voices of parents who want nothing more than an education for their children. Try putting yourselves in their shoes instead of looking at how you can cut to save money!!!!!!

Please keep our JK and SK FI open. Our daughter who is in JK has learned so much already. We don't know what we will do for her younger brother but uprooting him after 2 years elsewhere would be difficult. Would like to be an active part of just one school family, as well!

My son now is attending private Montessori. We have been excited about getting him enrolled in 2016 in the FI program in Brantford. If the FI program is shut down we will be keeping him in his current privat school.

Picking a school for my children was hard and now that they have been at this school for two years and love it and have shown excellent growth with the French language.
I do not want to separate my children nor have to switch them to a different school and go through the whole process again.
This age in children are so important.
If not broken don't fix it!

We live in a bilingual country and our children/grandchildren should not be excluded from the opportunity to learn French. Growing up in England we did not have the same opportunity due to shortsighted educators I plead with the trustees in Brantford to not make the same mistake.

I don't want to take out the FI programs. I believe there is so much potential for their futures. Pls don't take it away....
