Taxation without representation. If we are going to vote on a sales tax for the Evergreen Area, let all of us vote.

We are not an urban community and we sure don't need another layer of government and and a new tax authority.

Petition ELID will affect us all and negatively, not just those in Evergreen. This is raising sales to change Evergreen from what it is. Much worse than that, only the water district can vote on this. Just leave us alone! Jefferson County Commissioners vote on this Tuesday, May 22.

I do not wish to have my taxes raised. I find it unacceptable for only those residents who have city water or sewers being able to vote on this ridiculous plan.

Existing tax structure high enough, and sometimes consciously I shop in areas where the sales tax structure is lower.

No taxsition with out representation. I have a well so I think I will not be able to vote on this tax and that is wrong. I've lived here for 30 years and I should have a voice in what effects my family.

The reason I shop in Evergreen rather than Golden is no roundabouts and no 3% sales tax.

I agree with Laurel that it should go to a vote of the people who will be affected by it. These urban projects will change the landscape and make it more expensive to live there.

the most expensive item on the wish list, are the roundabouts on 74. think about all that traffic commuting down the hill, slowing to 10 miles per hour at each one. the thought is ridiculous and serves no purpose. the roundabouts are a bad idea and without them there is no basis for funding the rest of the proposal. the ELID is a good idea for only a select few, the rest of us will end up paying for it everyday.

The Village Gourmet, its customers, and its employees are opposed to DEED and ELID proposed sales tax increase.

I am against more layers of taxation, in this case decided by an un-elected group of people who can propose raises in the future. Please vote against the ELID - with its plans for our community. And please don't recommend studies.

I'm concerned that the ELID will have power of condemnation over private property. Many projects proposed by DEED as shown on Dean Dalvit's spreadsheet involve "taking" private property.
