Immediately ban open fires and charcoal grills in fire-ravaged El Dorado County

This is the sensible thing to do!

I visit the area regularly, kayak on the South Fork and enjoy the many beaches along the river. It’s upsetting and sad that there is no ban on open fires. In the age of never-ending fires and severe drought, this is not only a shame but a dereliction of duty. What reason (short for reasonable) is there for allowing open fires? Are those reasons greater than the dangers? This seems like one of the easiest decisions the board can make. If you’re concerned for political reasons, there couldn’t be a better time to move forward. Any opposition will be drowned out with pictures of destroyed homes and misplaced families. Please take the necessary steps to move this forward. Thank you.

I have been boating, cycling, camping and spending money in and around The American River for 30+ years. It would be a tragedy for it to join so much of CA. as another victim to these fires. It’d be an especially absurd tragedy if it were because of such a simple and avoidable cause as a legal cook fire out of control. You gotta get this done!!!

Pretty soon we won't have any trees to burn. Some people are so ignorant and have no conmen sense.

Please ban open fires in el dorado county parks. I love recreating there and am concerned with the safety of my parents who live in Coloma and are living in fear of fires.

Not instituting an open fires ban is the definition of insanity. I know we can do better!

OR & CA state parks ban charcoal and open fires during high risk seasons. Limiting personal freedom is all well and good until carelessness causes their neighbor’s home to burn. How do you think the Caldor Fire started and so many others!!!!

I agree for all our safety to ban and restrict access for open fires in El Dorado County.

I urge the county supervisors to put in place a ban on open fires in county parks and public spaces.
