Smokey Bear says,
“There’s nothing quite like enjoying the great outdoors with a roaring fire, gooey s’mores and a night sky full of stars. But that wonderful campfire is also a big responsibility. Smokey needs your help preventing wildfires.”
Please consider bans on recreational fires during D3 & D4 times.
I support this petition.

I recreate in El Dorado County. (I live in San Francisco.) And am deeply saddened by the destruction from the Caldor Fire. Please help keep the beautiful Coloma-Lotus and the rest of the county safe from fire during this super dry time of year! Thank you

It is inconceivable that El Dorado County does not have a ban on open fires. Visitors/tourists to our area do not understand the risk of open fires and need to be educated, starting with an enforced ban. TAKE ACTION NOW!

I am a property owner in Placerville and very concerned about the potential for recreational fires to get out of control and threaten our cherished public lands, as well as private properties.
Thank you for your consideration.

Please let us not allow human error to possibly force our fire fighters to add to their load.

PLEASE, there’s no reason to allow fires/barbecues when so much of the state is on fire! We need to protect our recreational resources so that all the beautiful spaces outdoors are not burned and ugly.

Allowing outdoor fires while wildfires are raging is dangerous and unfair to people who are local to the area.

My husband and I live in the Coloma Lotus Valley, and a fire here would absolutely result in casualties. We are appalled at the careless behavior with fire by visitors to our valley. Please help us protect our homes and green spaces by banning open fires in El Dorado County during fire season.

Allowing outdoor fires while wildfires are raging nearby is reckless and terribly unfair to people who live in the area.

Please, El Dorado County Sups, help us all unit to protect our region and resources for years to come. We all need to take the long view for the county, and now's absolutely the time to make sure no new fires start. There aren't resources to fight them and we still have months to go in the now very long "fire season." Thank you for your service and for leading on this matter.

Please ban all open fires and charcoal grills to keep our region safe. I have seen still-hot charcoal coals on the ground at the river shoreline near Henningsen Lotus Park. Some visitors do not understand the risks. Enforcement shoiuld be instituted.

No outdoor fires should be allowed in any California county until winter arrives. It is simply too unsafe.
