I was stunned to hear of this potential changes to this school. Many of my friends children have gone to or are going to Del Obispo Elementary school. The main quesiton I have about this change is how is this helping the local community? How is this right for them and how dare you kick out the endeering and generational school goers. Tell me how this benefits the locals whom have planned and moved here years ago only now to be told that they can't go to the school next door. How does clogging up our streets by hundreds of cars dropping off kids every morning help? How does pushing all of the people out that have been planning for years and walk to school everyday? This takes cars off the road and creates a community. Bussing kids in from afar and transporting them by hundreds of SUV's is horrible for the environment as well. Lets teach the kids whats right by Keeping the school local and not letting big money just come in an buy it out from under us. I think charter schools are good but how you are going about developing this one is really insulting to human kind. Do the right thing and go build your own school. In your own community.

Del obispo is one of the best school experiences I had. It was a lot of fun I made most of my friends I have today there and some of my best friends I have today I met and grew up with at Del Obispo. Del Obispo is a great school because they have a a lot of different options for students that need extra help or are advanced and need a higher level of work. This works so well because every student is working at the pace that they need and the teachers and faculty help students grow and get to where they need to be. I think Del Obispo Elementary School shouldn't be changed much less closed because it made me who I am today and if the school boards look into where half the students are now they are doing great things a lot of the students that used to go there are in high school or collage doing great things and in advanced classes and the ones that just entered junior high are amazing students on their way to do great things. I personally know that the students there are quiet bright I got the opportunity to work with some of the students during the 2014-2015 school year and there were some outstanding students that were unbelievably smart. And while working with the students I got to know the students and teachers that are there now and they are all outstanding people with great personalities and it would be sad to see all of that taken away from our community because all my siblings were Del Obispo Dragons and all of them loved the experience and I want other kids to get to experience this amazing community and the people in it because once a dragon always a dragon.

Hi I am currently a 7th grader at Marco Forster Middle School right next to Del Obispo. I went to Del Obispo through K-5th grade and I love it so much. My two cousins are currently going to Del Obispo and it would hurt not just them everyone in our community to replace Del Obispo with a Charter School. My cousins and I like walking to school together so PLEASE DONT TAKE OUR SCHOOL!!!!!!

Closing this wonderful school is a horrible idea for so many reasons. Keep Del Obispo Elementary School open & running.

I am a resident 1 block from the school. I already have many parents using my block for drop of and pick up despite the need to a decal and cops writing tickets they risk it. This will just make everything worse. Why cant school boards just leave the current situation alone? Geez. Just find another location. I went to a charter school that was in a strip mall and we loved it!

I was a student at both Del Obispo and Marco Forster and I had such great memories that I bought a house in the same tract i grew up in (Troy Homes). I wanted my daughter to have the same experience I had as a child. It gave me great piece of mind as a single mother to know she was in a safe and loving community. I was one of the first students at Del Obispo when it opened in 1976 and to my surprise Mrs. Kingston, my 2nd grade teacher, was still there teaching. When my daughter was placed in her class I was completely overjoyed. When and where does that ever happen!! Well here in our wondeful little school . I know many people I grew up with, along with my 3 brothers and sisters, that also have children of their own that share similar stories. I beg you to please find another community for your Charter school. We already have amazing dynamics here and to distrurb that would be a horrible thing to do to an supportive, loving, and tight knit community. Yes i will say it "FAMILY"
