This was my favorite place to go and enjoy the beach when I went on vacation! I met some great people there and plan to go back and play this year on my vacation again! This was also the place I learned how to play and play well! Keep them open please!

This is more than just two courts this is a community. You would be destroying an entire 'ohana.

My family loves going there every Sunday to play volleyball. It would be a shame if we weren't able to do so. My kids will be devestated.

I have been coming to De Russy court for over 30 years. This has been my second home. I spend almost everyday at these courts. They help me exercise and have self confidence. I see people come and go...years after years....but they all come back to the same safe spot to encounter old friends. I have been coming to these courts longer than anyone else have been. Until today, this is our bless courts to the world community. I seen people who come here to take a break of all kind of life stress situation. I also have found that many also chose to play at these courts instead of being out doing drugs. I don't think the office people of Hale Koa understand how much these courts are used in the late afternoon, weekends, and holidays. For many years we have been trying to get 3 courts because of how many people are utilizing them. Our belated William W. Robinson who was I great friend served as U.S.Navy admiral was our voice of the volleyball courts. We miss him so much. Now, the people of De Russy, volleyball and non volleyball player... Millitary, civilians, visitors, DOD, children, elderly from all over the world utilized this location for their recreational time and vacation spot.

This is a place I grew up going to. When I come home back to Hawaii, it’s a gathering place for people I’ve grown up with and meeting new faces. I come home to Hawaii about 3-4 times a month. Do not close this .

I love this beach and playing on the sand courts. It’s a great recreation area. Also, MANY tourists play there as well.

Ft DeRussy sand volleyball courts are indeed a remnant and lasting homage to those who came here for R&R during the Vietnam War, and all those military and locals who came since then. A real emblem of Aloha and the Hawaiian spirit of Aloha. Countless men and women, young and old have found this place one of the few places on Oahu and Hawaii where all can inter-mingle with others from all places. Shelly
