It would make better sense to store somewhere less harmful to the environment. Storing of construction equipment would mean some of the heave machinery would have harmful lubricants and fuels used. What guarantees are in place for this not to happen. The area is used by many many of the community. One of the most beautiful beaches around, so pristine. FIND an alternative storage area.

Volleyball courts are awesome and are 18 square meters, really not that big. Keep them!

Keep the volleyball courts open. Do not close them temporarily or permanently.

PLEASE KEEP VBALL SAND COURTS OPEN!! MAHALO!!

This is one of the best community-building areas in all of Waikiki, and one of the only spots that's freely available to all types of people from any background, unlike the myriad hotels, pools, and other spots in Waikiki that are now exclusively for tourists. Many people have grown up or come of age on these courts, as they have become a central meeting point for a global community of welcoming volleyball players. I have seen non-volleyball players turned into volleyball enthusiasts simply because it is such a fun, welcoming, warm community to be a part of. It would be a shame to inhibit these courts in any manner. Please keep them open for the prosperity of both the local and global community. I am personally a family friend of Mr. De Russy's granddaughter, Chris De Russy, and I can tell you that turning this community center into a storage area is not how the De Russy family would want their patriarch's namesake land to be used. Do René De Russy a solid- keep the courts open and clear and continue promoting our American values of acceptance of all types. Rember- René de Russy, unlike his brother, was a Union soldier! He believed in the rights of ALL Americans, not just those with money and power. Keep Fort De Russy an open stronghold for all types of visitors, by keeping the courts free and accessible. Thank you!

Please have the decency to not let a commercial endeavor take away from our favorite pastime of playing vball at Ft De Russy and the many tourist that visit! There has got to be some other place to store the contractors equipment!

For many years these courts have brought family and friends together... and has kept us together! The Aloha spirit and traditions of sharing stories, laughs, and even tears with our Hānai family have always been strong here! We KNOW each other! This is a gathering place filled with love and connections and taking this away will break that foundation and opportunity to share this space and experiences with others! I sign this petition to protect what we have... ohana!

Historic grounds for many. Islanders, military, tourists. Vclubs, national/international sports mega promoters and the list continues. Find another option area that would not hinder the morale and welfare for all. Do not take away what has freely been maintained and cared for by the many users. It's the doorway that brings land and sea as one for all. Mahalo.

This place is so Iconic! There already is hardly any places to go play on Oahu. Considering Beach volleyball was invented here this is sad! PLEASE DON'T SHUT THIS DOWN!!!!

Please we need these courts. I'm sure there's plenty of other places to store equipment. Please I beg.

When I first moved to Hawaii, the courts were the only place I could go and hangout. The courts kept me from wondering the streets of Wakiki and getting into trouble. We need to keep these places open that offer a positive path. We close the volleyball courts then all those people that were playing and having a great time have to fond something to do and that something may not be good? So KEEP THE COURTS OPEN! PLEASE???

These courts are an important part of modern Hawaiian culture. Keep them open, please.
